Report Card: FSHS ranked among best school in parish, state

French Settlement High School has been ranked among one of the best schools in Louisiana, according to newly released data from the Louisiana Department of Education.


FSHS received a school performance score of 103.5, the second highest score in Livingston Parish behind Live Oak High School. The ranking puts FSHS #20 out of 426 schools in Louisiana.

"This is a testament to the hard work our staff puts in everyday," FSHS principal John Chewning said. "Livingston Parish is one of the top districts in the state. For French Settlement to be ranked not only in the top of our parish but also in the top 20 of the entire state is a huge honor and accomplishment."





French Settlement High's graduation cohort rate of 141.5 is the highest in Livingston Parish. The school also earned the highest strength of diploma in the parish.


Livingston Parish was one of only five districts in the state to see increased scores. The parish was ranked 5th in the state behind West Feliciana, Zachary, Central and Ascension. Eight schools in the parish were in the top 100 statewide.
