French Settlement High School held a school safety workshop and family literacy night on Wednesday, October 26, at the Gerald C. Keller Gymnasium.
The safety workshop was led by Deputy Chase Carrier. He discussed internet safety and bullying. He gave students and parents tools to help them stay safe online and on social media.
Immediately following the safety workshop, French Settlement High School faculty and staff hosted family literacy light. Families participated by walking around to various literacy stations.
Students were challenged on their parts of speech in a fun game of BINGO. They also put their literacy terminology to the test in a crossword puzzle. Students and parents also discussed their favorite books, and they received recommendations on similar books they might be interested in.
There were several other fun games including a game of Boggle, a cake walk and poetry blackout.
