French Settlement posts highest 7th & 8th grade ELA LEAP scores in parish

French Settlement is celebrating a big LEAP accomplishment.


Danielle Latimer (7th grade ELA) and Natasha McMorris (8th grade ELA) led their students to the highest ELA LEAP scores among all Livingston Parish middle schools.

That wasn't the only major accomplishment the junior high saw during the 2022 Louisiana Educational Assessment Program.


Peyton Laiche and Billy Whittington scored advanced on all four sections of the LEAP test, the highest level of achievement students can achieve.

Students in grades 3 through 8 take assessments in English language arts, mathematics, science and social studies. These assessments are aligned to the Louisiana Student Standards. Student level of achievement include unsatisfactory, approaching basic, basic, mastery and advanced.
