Everything you need to know about Homecoming & Spirit Week

French Settlement High School will be celebrating Homecoming 2022 & Spirit Week November 14-19, 2022.


SPIRIT WEEK THEMES Students: Dress code violations will result in the consequence of not dressing up for the rest of the week

  • Monday: Mardi Gras Mambo Purple, green or gold shirts may be worn. Mardi Gras accessories can only be worn on your head or around your neck. Jeans cannot have holes. No sweatpants allowed.

  • Tuesday: Teen Beach - Bikes vs. Surfers Jeans may have holes at or below the knee on this day only. Leather pants cannot be legging material unless you wear shorts over them. No flip flops, no sweatpants allowed

  • Wednesday: The Game of LIFE 7th/8th Grade: Babies Freshmen/Sophomores: Frat boys & Sorority girls Juniors/Seniors: Grannies & granpappies Faculty: Students of today Sweatpants are acceptable for 11th & 12th graders only on this day. Slippers are acceptable for this day only. Nightgowns must be NO shorter than 4 inches above the knee. Onsies are acceptable for Junior High students.

  • Thursday: Neon Day Jeans are acceptable but cannot have holes. Sweatpants are not allowed on this day. Neon leggings/tights may be worn with shorts.

  • Friday: Color War 7th Grade: Red 8th Grade: Orange Freshmen: Pink Sophomores: Purple Juniors: White Seniors: Black Faculty/Staff: Green Students may only wear colors associated with their grade. Sweatpants are not allowed. All shorts/skirts cannot be shorter than 4 inches above the knee. No open-toed shoes.

Dress code notes: Sweatpants are only allowed on specified days, for specific grades. No V-neck shirts or tank tops are allowed on any day.


Homecoming Court

The 2022 Homecoming Court will be presented during the Homecoming game on Friday night. One of the five seniors will be crowned queen at the game (around 6 p.m.).


Students in each grade voted for the maids to represent their class. This year's maids are:

  • Seniors: Lundyn Chauvin, Brooke Dupuy, Kevia Long, Emma Martin, Abby Woods

  • Juniors: Jolie Auzenne, Berkleigh Cormier, Jon' Duplessis, Eloise Martin

  • Sophomores: Marissa Andrews, Ava Peterson, Cameron Wheat

  • Freshmen: Stella Allison, Berklie Blount

Homecoming Game

The Lions and Lady Lions will each have games for Homecoming.


The Lady Lions will take on St. Scholastica and the Lions will take on Episcopal of Acadiana. There will be three games starting at 5 p.m.


Homecoming Dance

The Homecoming dance will take place at the Gerald C. Keller Gymnasium on Saturday, November 19.


The Junior High dance will take place from 6-8 p.m. The high school dance will take place from 8:30-11 p.m.

(Junior high students are not allowed entrance into the high school dance, and high school students are not allowed entrance into the junior high dance).


Tickets can be purchased from Mrs. Ouber in the cafeteria during the week of November 14-18. Tickets for the dance will be $10/person. All school fees must be paid before students are allowed to purchase dance tickets.



Anyone attending Homecoming must be the date of a student from French Settlement High School. Students will check in and present tickets as they enter the gym, and then check out as they leave. Once students (and his/her date) enter the gym, they will not be allowed to leave until someone is there to pick them up.


Students must have parents sign and return permission slips & pay all fees before they are allowed to purchase a Homecoming ticket. Parents may download and print out permission slips below:

Barclell Studio will be at the Homecoming Dance to take photos. Photo packages range from $25-55. Cash, check, Venmo and Credit Cards are accepted.
