
FRENCH SETTLEMENT, LA – The French Settlement High School girls’ basketball team capped off an outstanding season with a 24-10 record, claiming the District 9-2A Championship with an undefeated district run. Their dominance was recognized with multiple All-District honors, including MVP Stella Allison and Coach of the Year Jake Bourgeois.
Allison, a key leader for the Lady Lions, was named District MVP and earned a spot on the First Team All-District, alongside teammate Ava Acosta, who played a crucial role in the team’s success.
Rilan Delaneuville and Malloy Miles secured spots on the Second Team All-District, while Kloe Parrish received an Honorable Mention for her contributions.
Head Coach Jake Bourgeois was recognized as Coach of the Year, a testament to his leadership in guiding the Lady Lions to an undefeated district championship and deep postseason run.
“This team worked tirelessly and showed incredible dedication all season,” said Bourgeois. “To go undefeated in district play and have so many players honored speaks volumes about their commitment and talent.”
The Lady Lions’ remarkable season sets a high standard for the program as they look to build on their success in the coming years.
