4-H Club wins big at achievement day, Draper named Leader of the Year

The French Settlement High School 4-H Club had a strong showing at the 2022 achievement day, placing second in the district for outstanding club in both the junior and senior division.


The 4-H Club took home 11 first place awards and was recognized with 10 blue ribbons for record books. Club sponsor Mrs. Jennifer Draper was also awarded 4-H Leader of the Year.


"Working with this organization the last two years has opened my eyes to the many outlets available for student achievement," Draper said the FSHS 4-H club's performance following achievement day. "4-H addresses all aspects of the individual - head, heart, hands and health - and provides a pathway to develop empathy, leadership and a respect for our world."


Caroline Draper and Tucker Lobell were named outstanding junior high 4-H members, while Emma Gaudet and Shane Nettles were named outstanding high school 4-H members. Gaudet and Nettles also won best overall record book. Draper qualified for the state competition after placing first for her beef poster.


Jac Draper won first place in the good grooming contest, Aubree Hunt won first place for housing design, Eloise Martin won first place for take your pick and set the stage competitions and Nettles scored another first place win in shooting sports.
