Whether you’re dodging a schedule that looks like a plate of spaghetti, plotting your post-graduation escape plan, or just need a sounding board for all those thoughts buzzing around in your head, I’m here for you! I'm all about helping—whether it's with academics (not math, but I have backup for that 🤣), making plans, addressing personal matters, or something in the mysterious middle. Just swing by my office, drop me an email, give me a call, send a letter by carrier pigeon, or explore our website’s treasure trove of resources—whatever tickles your fancy!

What does a school counselor do?

1

Academic Guidance

School counselors help students with course selection, scheduling, and academic planning. They work to ensure students meet graduation requirements and can assist with strategies to improve study habits and time management.

2

Career Planning

School counselors provide resources and guidance for career exploration, including helping students understand different career paths, preparing for college applications, and identifying potential job opportunities.

3

Social & Emotional Support

Counselors offer support for issues such as peer relationships, self-esteem, and coping with school-related stress. They may facilitate group sessions or workshops on topics like conflict resolution and effective communication.

4

Crisis Intervention

While not therapists, school counselors are trained to handle immediate crises and provide short-term support. They act as a bridge to more specialized mental health services when needed.

5

Referrals

School counselors recognize when a student needs more intensive mental health support and can refer them to external therapists, psychologists, or other professionals.

6

Collaboration

School counselors work with teachers and parents to address any academic or behavioral concerns, ensuring a supportive network around each student.
